On Friday, January 18th 2019, Group 42 of Kuliah Kerja Nyata (An obligatory Service Learning Program of Sanata Dharma University) held an assembly to raise awareness of the importance of education at SMK N 1 Gedangsari, Gunung Kidul, DIY. The purpose of this assembly was to raise the students’ awareness to continue to higher education, therefore increasing their life quality later in the future. The presentation was delivered by a lecturer of Guidance and Counseling, Bernardinus Agus Arswimba, M.Pd.
In this opportunity, Bernardinus Agus Arswimba, M.Pd. presented the materials and videos to improve students’ understanding on the importance of continuing to higher studies. In the end of the material, Agus emphasized that education is not only about dreams or degree but also other essentials taught in the class. He invited the students to improve their life quality in this time of the industry revolution era 4.0.
After the material was presented, the Committee of Student Admission promoted the study programs at Sanata Dharma University. Hopefully, the information will be useful in the future as a reference for the students to continue their study at SDU later on.
There was also a question and answer session to give advice and suggestions to improve their will to study and to succeed studying at the university level. The students were enthusiastic about this assembly, as seen by the questions asked by the teacher and students. They expressed their determination to continue studying in higher education to fulfill their dreams and make their families proud.
